Siem Riep, Cambodia is a magical place. In only a few days we managed to see most of the many many temples in the Ankgor Wat temple system. Ranked as a wonder of the ancient world, Angkor Wat is a breathtaking achievement of humanity and a must-see destination for anyone who appreciates stone-carving.
Despite significant theft of antiquities in the past, what remains is nonetheless humbling in both quality and quantity. This is the largest temple complex in the world and is recovering from centuries of neglect through international efforts to restore this heritage in coordination with the people of Cambodia.
I highly recommend a visit to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.
